It lacks cellulose cell walls and therefore do not requires chemical or processing in order to become digestible. The digestibility is 83 – 84 %. Spirulina is regarded as a rich source of protein, vitamins, essential mineral, amino acids, EFFA like gamma LNA and antioxidant pigments like carotenoids.
